Chameleon Clock App Reviews

Useless

One of the apps I wish I could refund. Who wants to click into this app to have a sluggish interface and read the time they can read already in every other application.

Charming app that does exactly what it says

Very entertaining and useful. I have it running on my iPhone in my office and the rear camera gives a very interesting background. The swipe to change text intensity is clever. Also works well on my iPad. Cmon folks, its a fun little 99 cent app, lighten up.

Dont waste tour money

I should have known better. It was a cool idea in concept, but the cool stops there. I want my dollar back.

This app is a piece crap

This app is just a camera with fonts in front

Great to look at pointless to use.

Wish I had my 99 cents back. Cannot set clock in lock mode. Whos gonna leave an app open for just the time? Cannot set down as camera wont work stays pitch black. Who has a stand all the time? On flip side its a simple clock I love. Wish you could default on iPhone lock screen (ya right with apple). More work into this app. Design wise its great. Use wise, dont bother.

Eh.

Its okay I guess. Not worth 99cents though.

Doesnt Work; Dont Waste a Buck

No, it doesnt even work propped up. So what does this app do? Turns on the camera and displays whats behind behind your iPad with the current time on top. The problem is, the camera is off centered and it zooms in too much. So even against a plain white wall, you get a close up that doesnt create a "chameleon" effect, Cute idea, doesnt deliver, I would have rather wiped myself with the dollar bill I wasted on this app.

Does exactly as described.

The reviews show how little people know about the phone they have in their hands. You cant have an app, clock or otherwise, run in lockscreen--It Does Not Work That Way, unless youve got a jailbroken device an some sort of tweak to change the lockscreen, though I dont know if theres an equivalent to this app. This app behaves like every. Single. Clock. in the app store, where you need to leave it open and running if you want to use it. Thats just how it works, folks. And I dont know what the complaints about pictures being upside-down and whatnot--the app is using the phones camera, so it tilts in exactly the same way the camera on your phone does. If you dont like the particular angle, rotate your device. Again, every single clock in the app store works the same way. And obviously, if you set something that uses your camera down, you will not see anything because the camera is covered. This is logical. If I had one complaint, it would be that the image IS too zoomed in. Since the app uses the phones own camera, why not have it be just as zoomed out as the camera normally is? Having it zoomed in too much kind of kills the "chameleon" affect, though having a live video feed behind your clock is still an interesting idea, particularly if you have a busy background behind it. All in all, the app does what it says on the tin, and behaves exactly as one should expect it to behave. Ignore anyone marking this below a 3 or a 4, the app more-or-less delivers what it describes, and therefore deserves a rating to match that fact. And being a universal app is a steal at $0.99. My only hope is a future update will allow to change how zoomed in/out the camera feed is.

Awesome design idea

Great implementation, would love to see an alarm in future versions!

Not Even Close to Seamless

If youre expecting this to blend seamlessly into the background -- like your iPhone or iPad is transparent -- dont. The image from the camera is much smaller on the screen than what its pointed at. I probably should have known this. But I thought they would do something with the image coming in to make it the same size as the bg behind it. The other Chameleon Clock (with the ™) doesnt work either.

App adaptation

This app has worked for me. I use it with a docking station that looks like a Braun alarm clock. I also use it with screen grab to time stamp a photo. Maybe add a photo feature to keep the background or capture time stamped pictures.

Cool idea they just didnt actually make it

When the app is in live camera mode the image is rotated 90 degrees. If you put the phone in landscape mode it still does this. The only way to have the camera photo he properly aligned is to have the volume buttons pointed down. Thats super helpful when most docks force the phone to be in portrait mode.

Nice, Needs pinch to zoom

Camera mode should zoom. Contact button does not work on ipad3

Dont Get This

Live video feed is upside down, making this app useless.

Not good

Doesnt rotate properly or focus on the actual background, so its not in the least "invisible". I just bought this ... 99cents wasted.

Stoner request.

Make the icon still say 4:20.

Background sideways

Shows background turned 90 degrees from it actually is

Stupid app

Still wondering why I wasted a buck on this. It is useless.

Should have read reviews first.

Without image properly aligning itself with the phone this app is worthless.

Great App, Beautifully Simple Clock

Not sure what all the other reviews are about. I took the leap and purchased this app and it works great. I think maybe people need to read the instructions before whining on here about the app not working. I usually have a clock on either my iPhone or iPad running on my desk at all times. This has become my new clock. One down side, live camera mode is a battery hog but this is kind of expected. Great app guys. Thanks!
